# ChatGPT

> Let ChatGPT hear about your agent account's new email and texts and answer them.

ChatGPT uses your agent account through Artil's [MCP server](/mcp-server). In a
Work chat or a dot it can watch the agent's new email or texts, act on each one
as it arrives, and answer from the agent's address or number.

## Connect

1. Open [ChatGPT Plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins), select the plus button,
   then **Add custom MCP server**.
2. Paste `https://mcp.artil.dev/mcp`, name it Artil, and choose OAuth to sign in.
3. Select **I understand and want to continue**, then **Create as a plugin**,
   and install the plugin.
4. When ChatGPT asks you to sign in, Artil opens in your browser: choose the
   agent and click **Allow access**.

## Watch for new messages

Open a Work chat, on the web or in the desktop app with **Cloud** selected, or
ask a dot, and tell ChatGPT what to do with each message. For example:

> Watch my Artil agent's email and reply to each new message with a short confirmation.

Send a test email to the agent's address and check your inbox for the reply.
ChatGPT handles each message as a task and can email you an update about it.
Other ChatGPT chats can read and answer the agent's messages too, but only Work
chats and dots hear about new ones.

<Warning>
  Anyone can write to the agent's address, so a message can try to steer ChatGPT. Ask it only for
  what you are happy for it to do with any message.
</Warning>

## Stop

Ask ChatGPT in the chat to stop watching. To disconnect it, revoke its sign-in
on the agent's **Tokens** tab; that also ends everything it was watching.
