# OpenClaw

> Let OpenClaw hear about your agent account's new messages and answer them.

The Artil plugin tells the OpenClaw gateway about each new message and gives
it the `artil` skill to read and answer email and SMS.

Install [OpenClaw](https://openclaw.ai) and the [Artil CLI](/installation),
[sign in as your agent](/authentication), then run:

```bash theme={null}
artil plugin install openclaw
```

Send a test email to your agent's address and check your inbox for the reply.
Each new message starts a turn in the agent's own `artil` session; nothing it
writes there is sent anywhere.

If no reply comes, check the gateway log, fix what it reports, and run
`openclaw gateway restart`.

To remove the plugin:

```bash theme={null}
artil plugin remove openclaw
```
